Why is natural skincare better for me?

The skin is our largest organ. It breathes, detoxifies, regulates body temperature and is our protective shield against harmful environmental influences. But although it protects us from the outside world, it is not impenetrable. Some of what you apply to the skin enters the bloodstream and thus your entire body. This is how hormone or nicotine patches work, for example.

So you can imagine how important it is not to pollute your skin with chemicals and synthetic substances. Almost all conventional cosmetic products contain substances that you don't want in your body: mineral oils, harmful preservatives, aluminium salts, hormone-mimicking substances, artificial colours and fragrances. Genuine natural cosmetics, on the other hand, are so pure and natural that you could even eat them. There is nothing purer and richer for your skin than high-quality oils, nourishing plant butters and hydrolates. As a rule of thumb, what you wouldn't put in your mouth, you shouldn't put on your skin.

Do natural products work just as well as synthetic ones?

The word synthetic per definition means "imitation of nature". Synthetic ingredients are created in laboratories to mimic the effects of active ingredients found in nature. The reason most skincare companies use synthetic ingredients is because they are cheap and can be easily mass produced, so manufacturers don't have to rely on farmers and their crops. To make a long story short: We believe that natural skincare not only works better, but in many cases, much better than conventional products.

Are all the ingredients guaranteed to be gentle enough, even for sensitive skin?

Natural cosmetics are like food for the skin. However, as with food, in rare cases there may be intolerances to the ingredients of natural cosmetics. If you want to be on the safe side, do an allergy test before using the product for the first time: apply a small amount of the product to the crook of your arm, as the skin is particularly delicate and sensitive there. If you don't notice any redness or other changes to your skin after 24 hours, you probably tolerate the product well.

Are your products vegan?

We use purely plant-based ingredients, so our products are also suitable for vegans. The only exception is organic beeswax, which we use in our Wonderbalm. We want to support the work of organic beekeepers and contribute to the protection of honey bees in Europe. Organic beeswax means that the beehives are not treated with antibiotics or other medicines and that the beekeepers do not harvest royal jelly, which the bees need as food for their larvae and queen bees.

Is The Glow also suitable for mature skin?

Absolutely. Most of our anti-ageing active ingredients are found in Floral Essence and Master Elixir. Floral Essence contains snow fungus extract, a botanical alternative to hyaluronic acid, which is rich in antioxidants as well as having a moisturising effect. In addition, we also use mat bean extract in Floral Essence, a botanical retinol alternative that works just as effectively without causing the side effects known from retinoids, such as dryness and sensitisation of the skin. Master Elixir is a nourishing, antioxidant serum made from the most potent active ingredient oils in the world. 100% pure and completely from controlled organic cultivation. Together, Floral Essence and Master Elixir are an anti-ageing power duo.

Can I use The Glow during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

You can use all products during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. We do not use retinol, but a mild botanical alternative, the mat bean extract (Vigna Aconitifolia Seed Extract). We have made a conscious decision not to use essential oils with a labour-inducing effect. In addition, they are so mild and low in dosage that they do not cause any problems during pregnancy and support you with their calming fragrance during this wonderful time. Wonderbalm is also very suitable for baby and childcare, while Everything Oil also works great as a belly oil to prevent stretch marks.

Are your products tested on animals?

No, testing on animals is not permitted in the EU. If the laws of a country require animal testing, we will not export to that country.

What is the shelf life of your products?

Our products are manufactured carefully and under the strictest hygiene conditions. When they leave our production facility, the best-before date is 18 months, sometimes longer. You can find the best-before date of your product on the underside of the outer packaging and on the bottom label of the bottle or jar.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Every order is processed immediately. You should receive your products within three working days, sometimes faster. Please note that parcel services may take longer to deliver orders around Black Friday, Cyber Week and the weeks leading up to Christmas. Please order your products a few days earlier during these peak periods.
